Picking up the thread

It is time to continue what we started.

If everything goes well, I will arrive in Israel tomorrow morning. A couple of hours later I will be again among my friends. And soon after the Shabbat my teammates and I will resume our task.

The linen is already spread before us, the needles are threaded, the coloured skeins unravelled. All the beautiful moments, all the amazing encounters we carefully and lovingly embroidered at the beginning of the summer are waiting for us to carry on and cover the space with new testimonies.

And so we will, with the same enthusiasm and dedication. With the same respect and appreciation for those who choose to become part of our project, who accept to be interviewed and thus help us reflect the fascinating common miracle of human love.

There never was a more rewarding endeavour.


Retomar el hilo

Es hora de continuar lo que empezamos.

Si todo va bien, mañana por la mañana habré llegado a Israel. Un par de horas más tarde estaré de nuevo entre amigos. Y poco después del Sabbat mis compañeras y yo reanudaremos nuestra tarea.

El lienzo está ya extendido ante nosotras, las agujas están enhebradas, las madejas de colores desenredadas. Todos los momentos hermosos, todos los sorprendentes encuentros que bordamos con tanto cuidado y cariño a principios de verano están esperando que sigamos cubriendo el espacio con nuevos testimonios.

Y así lo haremos, con el mismo entusiasmo y la misma dedicación. Con el mismo respeto y aprecio por quienes eligen formar parte de nuestro proyecto, quienes aceptan ser entrevistados y nos ayudan de ese modo a reflejar el fascinante y común milagro del amor humano.

Nunca hubo labor tan gratificante.

Around the table

I was so excited that I forgot to take a picture. But there was a bowl of fresh green grapes, just like these, in the middle of Naomi’s wonderfully solid wooden table. And around it, three delicate crystal glasses of aromatic tea.

And then, in the outer circle, our voices, hands and faces. Naomi’s, Yael’s, mine. Rising high, drawing in the air, glowing with enthusiasm. Sharing views, posing questions, clarifying doubts, underlining this or that aspect. There was so much to discuss and decide…

We have got the best ingredients for a beautiful team: Yael’s experience and assertiveness, Naomi’s intuition and understanding, my trust in them, their trust in the project.

We had a very productive and inspiring first meeting. We are going to do a beautiful work together.


Alrededor de la mesa

Estaba tan emocionada que olvidé hacer una foto. Pero había un bol de uvas frescas como éstas en mitad de la mesa de madera sólida y cálida en casa de Naomi. Y en torno a él, tres delicados vasos de aromático té.

Y más allá, en el círculo exterior, nuestras voces, manos, rostros. De Naomi, Yael, míos. Elevándose, dibujando en el aire, brillando de entusiasmo. Compartiendo visiones, planteando preguntas, aclarando dudas, subrayando éste u otro punto. Había tanto que debatir y decidir…

Contamos con los mejores ingredientes para formar un gran equipo: la experiencia y la asertividad de Yael, la intuición y la comprensión de Naomi, mi confianza en ellas, la suya en el proyecto.

Tuvimos una primera reunión productiva y estimulante. Haremos un hermoso trabajo juntas.

Here we are!

Happy and excited, grateful and hopeful, joyfully aware of our responsibility.

It has taken quite long, but it is a real pleasure to finally present our project to the people we love and to everyone interested.

This is just the beginning. And we hope you like it, because there is much more to come.

Soon we will be posting our next steps, so you can keep track of everything new related to the process of creating Love like we do.

You are of course welcome to share your feelings and thoughts about it. And we encourage whoever has the wish or impulse to collaborate to contact us. There are plenty of ways you can participate or contribute to the project!

Contentos e ilusionados, agradecidos y llenos de esperanza, felizmente conscientes de nuestra responsabilidad.

Nos ha llevado un tiempo, pero por fin podemos presentar nuestro proyecto a la gente que queremos y a todos los que estáis interesados.
