When we had already finished, he asked: What number am I? Number six, I answered, you are the second man, the sixth interviewee, actually the first in this new round.
Being with him, listening to him, sharing a couple of hours of a cloudy Shabbat morning at his beautiful home, so full with candour and tenderness – so much blessed, Naomi said -, was for me a lesson on commitment.
Commitment to oneself, to being true, honest, open, curious, determined, brave. Commitment to reality, accepting and taking it as it is, giving up the drama, valuing its infinite and precious details. Commitment to love, to the essential simplicity of its multiple truth.
I looked at Yarden and I saw a man committed to life – as far from being a number as any human being.

Cuando ya habíamos acabado, me preguntó: ¿Qué número hago? El seis, le dije, eres el segundo hombre, el sexto entrevistado, de hecho el primero de esta nueva ronda.
Estar con él, escucharle, compartir un par de horas de una nublada mañana de sábado en su acogedora casa, tan llena de franqueza y de ternura – tan bendecida, dijo Naomi -, fue para mí una lección sobre compromiso.
Compromiso con uno mismo, con ser auténtico, honesto, abierto, curioso, decidido, valiente. Compromiso con la realidad, aceptándola y tomándola tal cual es, renunciando al drama, valorando sus infinitos y preciosos detalles. Compromiso con el amor, con la simplicidad esencial de su verdad múltiple.
Miré a Yarden y vi a un hombre comprometido con la vida – tan lejos de ser un número como cualquier ser humano.
